About Us - Rearing poultry the traditional way

Little Hays is situated at Ashby Puerorum near Horncastle in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds where Sue and Charlie Storr rear free range chickens, ducks, guinea fowl and seasonal geese in the traditional way.

We produce a quality, mature bird to give real flavour to a traditional roast with bread sauce, bacon, chipolata sausages and roast potatoes or perhaps you would prefer it with lemon and herbs.  Alternatively your choice may be a casserole with wine and mushrooms, whatever you decide will be delicious.

It does cost more to raise a bird naturally, let it live longer, and in turn give your meat real flavour but with a good sized roasting bird you will have plenty of meat and, of course, be able to make some wonderful stock for soups or other dishes.
